Arches national Park

    Arches National Park

Arches NP has more than 2400 natural stone arches the highest concentration in the world.  The Arches and varied landforms spawn from an underground salt bed deposited 300 million years ago, when a sea flowed into the region and then evaporated.  Subsequently, residue from floods, winds and the ocean covered the salt bed and became compressed as rock up to a mile thick in some places.    But as a lay person it looks like the the Gods or Aliens made sculptures and other artwork possibly depicting their life. President Herbert Hoover designated Arches a National Monument in 1929 since then it has been expanded and in 1971 Congress deemed it a National Park.  We spent one Day at Arches NP Definitely needed more than one day.  There are so many things things to see and multiple hikes to take.  I did hike to Landscape Arch via the Devil's Garden Trail  many of the pictures are from that trail the rest are from pullouts since we were limited for time.  This park is extremely  popular and busy in the summer so get there early.  As you can see from the photos there is very little shade so bring plenty of water, sunscreen and wear a hat!
