Canyonlands National Park

    Canyonlands National Park

On our way to Canyonlands we talked about driving through Arches a second time and chose not to (regretfully) Canyonlands is Utah's Largest NP and least visited.  It was designated a National Park in 1964 by President Lyndon B Johnson.  It is a remote, untamed wilderness with few paved roads,  It remains one of the last relatively undisturbed regions of the Colorado Plateau. It is divided into four districts. We visited the Island In The Sky District.  No roads or bridges connect one district to another so if you want to visit all four districts you need to plan more than one day in this vast wilderness.  There is very little piped in water bring gallons of water to this high desert.  I did one short hike on the White Rim Trail in the early morning hours and included a bunch of photos from this trek.
